Our junior highers and high schoolers meet every Sunday morning from 9:15-10:15. We hope to begin or continue building upon your teen's foundation in our Lord and Savior. Junior highers are each given a notebook at the beginning of their 6th grade year as a place to glue each week's worksheet, through their 8th grade year. The high schoolers hold open-ended discussion to decipher cultural contexts and determine how to continue serving as a witness for Christ. They meet at the rooms nearest to Pua'aki Hall on the Salvation Army side of our campus.
TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) is our junior high through high school youth ministry gathering. We meet in Kapiolani room on Fridays from 6:30-9:00pm. Currently, Aunty Annette and Aunty Sandy are taking the junior highers through the book of Exodus and Pastor Ken is helping the high schoolers navigate the gospel of John. The evening begins with games, followed by worship. exploring God's Word, and of course, Uncle David provides the snacks.
The youth from Maui and Oahu alternate in planning this annual event on either Maui or Oahu from December 27-30. Its the Oahu churches turn to plan and host so stay tuned for more details. Last year, we hosted the camp here on our campus and it was a blast! Dr. Ron Pyle from Whitworth University was our guest speaker and focused on our camp theme and scripture “Shootz We Go” Matthew 28:18-20. What will happen this year? God knows, stay tuned!
30 Hour Famine
Each year, the youth of Kahului Union participate in World Vision's 30 Hour Famine. This overnight event is designed to help our youth to get in touch with world hunger, what it feels like, who is effected by hunger, and how God wants us to respond. Funds are raised and sent to World Vision to help people from all over the world. This year’s KUC 30 Hour Famine will be in October. More info to come!
