DEACON MINISTRIES

Aikane Fellowship - This group provides biblical support and encouragement to widows and single women. (Others who are interested may participate)

Bereavement Ministry - Extending God’s comfort and encouragement to those in grief over the loss of loved ones, and assist those families with funeral arrangements.

Care Callers - Providing a friendly, caring “visit” to members of our church family through a short phone call. This is a way to extend God’s love, concern, and help, if needed, to members who are unable to attend church or who have missed services.

Communion - Preparing and serving communion. It is the tradition of Kahului Union Church to invite all believers to participate in communion on the first Sunday of each month. Responsibilities include purchasing the beverage and bread, preparing the servings, setting up the Communion table, and cleaning the table and utensils.

Personal Funeral Planning - Helping members as they record their personal funeral service plans, and keep their plans on file. Plans include selection of songs and Scripture, type of service, time of service, persons to be involved, and any other information important to the individual. Surviving family members have found this to be very helpful.

Prayer Team - Keepiong the members and friends of our church and all other aspects of our church in God’s presence through constant prayer. Equip and encourage other members to devote themselves to powerful and effective prayer. This ministry is vital to our dependence on God and to the life of our church.

Visitation Team - Extend the love, comfort and compassion of Christ to members and friends in the hospital or confined to their homes.
